Our Story

The name Passerin Nonpareil comes from the Painted Bunting — one of North America's most brilliantly colored birds, nicknamed the "nonpareil" (meaning "without equal" in French) by French settlers who were stunned by its unparalleled beauty. Like that remarkable little bird, we believe every girl carries her own unique colors, and our mission is to help her wear them proudly.

Passerin Nonpareil was founded in Los Angeles, California with a simple but powerful belief: that a great tee is more than fabric and thread — it's self-expression. It's the first thing you reach for in the morning. It's what makes you feel like yourself on a day when the world feels too loud. A tee, done right, is a quiet statement of who you are.

We started by making boxy tees for ourselves — soft, relaxed, effortlessly cool shirts that we actually wanted to wear every single day. We were frustrated by "boxy" tees that weren't truly boxy, by graphics that cracked after two washes, by cotton that scratched instead of whispered. So we fixed it.
